We at Reformed Exteriors know that you want to take good care of your home. We also know that one of the last things you or anyone want to deal with is a problem with your roof. Unfortunately, the roof is an area of your home that’s difficult to access and thus hard to get a close look at, so it’s harder to monitor it for impending problems the way you can keep an eye on features closer to the ground.
Despite the inconvenience, it’s worthwhile to check your roof periodically for signs of wear and damage, as catching issues early on will help you avoid more expensive problems down the road. To help you keep your roof in the best condition, we have put together a list of signs that will tell you if you need roofing repair:
- Your shingles are curled, cracked, or missing – If you notice that your shingles are cracked or are starting to curl up at the ends, it’s an indication that they are nearing the end of their lifespan. Along with these issues, any missing shingles are a sure sign that you need roofing repair.
- You find shingle granules in your gutters – Another sign that you need roofing repair is the presence of shingle granules in your gutters. You’ll see something that resembles black sand, which is actually grains of asphalt that have come loose from your shingles.
- Stains appear on your ceiling or walls – Not all signs of roof damage are external. Stains that appear inside your home on the walls or ceiling indicate that you have a leak, which could originate from a roof problem.
If you notice any of these signs, call our team at Reformed Exteriors to get a professional assessment on whether you need roofing repairs.
