Signs that You Need Roofing Replacement
At Reformed Exteriors, we understand that replacing your roof is something that no one wants to have to deal with. Roofing replacement is an involved process that has the potential to be extremely inconvenient and a little expensive. However, we also know that when the time comes for roofing replacement, putting it off will only make the problem worse and more expensive in the long run. You want to do what’s best for your home, and to help you do that, we have put together a list of signs to look for to see if you need roofing replacement.
- Age of Roof – The first thing to ask yourself to determine whether you need a new roof is when your existing roof installed. If the answer is that your roof is more than 20 years old, you need roofing replacement. If your roof is newer than that, continue to keep an eye out for other signs of damage to see if you need to replace it sooner.
- Curled Shingles – One sign that you may need roofing replacement soon is shingles that are curled at the edges. This curling action is a sign that your shingles are nearing the end of their life and need to be replaced with new ones.
- Bald Spots – Over time, the asphalt granules on your shingles can be brushed off, resulting in bald patches where the granules are missing. Shedding granules like this is a normal part of a roof’s aging process, but if large swaths of your roof are bare, you’ll probably need roofing replacement soon.
